Weekly Playlists: February Week Four

The cold has disappeared yet again for the week. The rain may have replaced the snow, but that’s no reason to let that dampen your commute playlist. Here are five new tracks to add to your driving tunes.

“Sway” by Mooseblood

One of my all-time favorites from this indie rock band. The steady production is worthy of any late night drive and the lyrics are thoughtful and worth many listens.

“Reckless Love” by Bleachers

Bleachers is a favorite of mine, as well, and “Reckless Love” is arguably my favorite track from the band. The production feels like a park walk on a cool, spring day. These days that’s a totally welcome feeling.

“Hang On” by X Ambassadors

A little more upbeat than the last two picks, “Hang On” is a track that has been on repeat in my Dodge Caliber for some time now. It’s a summer bonfire vibe with beer kind of track or, during this time of year, a night drive with the windows down.

“Shining” by X Ambassadors

X Ambassadors has been frequenting my playlist fairly often these days and “Shining” is an old favorite. It’s classic for the band, great production and great lyrics.

“The Wave” by Miike Snow

Miike Snow is new to my music rotation and “The Wave” is my favorite, so far. I’m attracted to any band that experiments with both electronic synths and classic instruments, like piano, snare and trumpets. It’s a great combo. Also, the vocals are incredible and soothing, great for a chill drive.
