New Tracks To Add To Your January Playlist

January car musicThe air is colder and the snow is plentiful. Unfortunately, the notorious winter commute persists another year. With the extra time tacked on to your travels, it’s ever important to amp up your tunes, as well. Here are some new songs to add to your commute playlist.

“Dollhouse” by Melanie Martinez

Martinez is a legend. She takes very intense and controversial subjects and puts an eerily childish spin on them. “Dollhouse” deals with internal family struggle and hiding that turmoil. The production, like most of her tracks, are catchy and a great addition to any commute, especially one plagued with extra time.

“Hey Girl” by Lady Gaga

Gaga’s newest album had a whole new vibe, one that alternative fans can totally get on board with. The true embodiment of this new style is “Hey Girl.” A duet with Florence Welch, the swingy tunes and fantastic vocals are sure to put a skip in your step on that Monday drive to work.

“Marilyn” by G-Eazy

A little sadder than my previous picks, but G-Eazy’s “Marilyn” has a ton of emotion, a great production, and great vocals. It’s a tad darker than his usual subjects, or sadder, rather. There is a lot of relatable emotion. At the very least, the production is catchy is worth a good listen.

“Flashlight” by The Front Bottoms

The Front Bottoms notoriously produces amazing lyrics and beats. “Flashlight” is one of my personal favorites. There’s tons of emotion packed into the relatively simple lyrics, which is what makes The Front Bottoms so unique. This pop punk band has a lot to offer with their newest album and this oldie brings it back to their prime beginning.

“Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” by Arctic Monkeys

A classic, of course, but this song has been hitting my playlists a ton these days. This is certainly one of the best tracks from AM, and one of the most popular. The vocals are very easy to vibe with as well as the lyrics. This is certainly a track to add to your winter playlist, and be sure to check out the rest of AM.
